To the bank at last!

Finally! To the bank at last! After nearly 3 years! Bank Negara must have wondered where did all the RM1 and 50 cents coins go.. hehehe..
In an attempt to do savings, I followed my cousin's advice to start collecting RM1 and 50 cents coins. The two aren't easy to collect so I'd go all sentimental when I have to lose them one by one, especially during month ends when all my money starting to shrink.
At first I wanted to carry it all in my red bag. But it was too heavy so I decided to carry it in my backpack. It took nearly half an hour for the bank to finish counting all the coins.
Khairul suggested that we should try collecting till the coins amount to RM5000. If RM1000 takes half an hour, RM5000? 2.5 hours? No way lah!

Trip to Palm Oil Plant in Perak

I'm currently involved in a pilot project that requires me doing site visits to some few plants (being the guinea pigs). Something to do with the emissions la.. O2, H2O, SO, SO2, CO, CO2, NO, NO2, DUST, BLA BLA BLA..
My team went to visit two palm oil plants in Perak on 11 July 2005, stayed overnite at Casuarina Hotel in Ipoh, then went to a cement plant the next day.
Not many pictures taken. No cement plant picture, you can view it my my previous entry for Lott's Wedding.
My boss took us to his kampung in Kuala Kangsar. His parents' house is the authentic Perak kampung house, very nice. I love the kampung houses in Semenanjung Malaysia cos each state has its own identity. I got to eat some fresh buah-buahan - pulasan, cempedak, langsat, rambutan. Nyam nyam nyam.
On 19-20 July 2005 we went to Perlis to visit another cement plant and a power plant. No pictures taken. My phone was sent for repair. I think maybe because it fell during my trip to the cement plant in Perak.

Last Day: Day 9 - Sunday

Today Khairul was feeling much, much better and thank God for that. We started the day with a trip to Tuaran to visit the tamu (Sunday market). Bought a lot of stuff for Khairul like sayur manis and tuhau. Apparently Khairul loves tuhau. I can't even stand the smell of it! He claims that eating tuhau will make a girl an active procreator so he wants me to learn to like it. Eeew!

Then me, mom and sis went to do the girly thing together - going to the salon! My mom had her hair steamed. My sis had her hair washed and steamed. And me? Yes, I had my hair straightened. Not teknik rebonding (I couldn't stand waiting for 4 hours), just straighten. My mom's fault! She sweet-talked me into it! Hair straightening at RM90 for 2 hours. Great bargain kan? All together I paid RM145 saja.
Then we had lunch at Sutera Habour before heading back home.
Always a nice sight.
At 5.45PM it was time to leave for the airport. After checking in at Terminal 2 KKIA dad took us to Tanjung Aru Beach for a quick drink.

Khairul and I departed at 8.05PM, this time without any delays and thank God for that. I shall miss KK terribly, just as I always have.

Day 8 - Saturday

I planned to take Khairul to the State Muzium, then meet up with Kar and Anna for dinner. But my dad made an adhoc plan of taking us to Sipitang. He had actually wanted to take us to Lawas from Sipitang, but then changed his mind and instead took us to Labuan.
We went to Menumbok using the new road and parked our car there then took a speed boat to Labuan. The fare was RM10 per person. We had to write our names for Customs' reference, so for Khairul dad scribbled 'Khairul Anuar Zain'.
We shopped, mostly for the cheap chocolates. I bought a kain sarung Jawa, it's so authentic. But I don't know yet what to match it with. Khairul almost sprain (a bit exaggerated here hehehe) his arms carrying the heavy shopping bag full of chocolates.
We took the last boat to Menumbok at 4.00PM then head to Kuala Penyu to head back home the old-fashioned way - using a ferry.
Khairul somehow got sick on our way back home, with the simptoms of food poisoning and gastric. Twas unbearable seeing him in terrible pain. I had to cancel my plan to see Kar and Anna cos my parents asked me to take care of him - to the point of spoonfeeding him. How awkward is that! And I actually cuci his kasut and baju to wash away his vomit - how wifey of me!
Really am sorry Kar and Anna for not being able to see the both you. Miss you both so much! Kar was supposed to belanja us ciken wings lagi tuh. Melepas laa........ tsk.. tsk.. tsk..

Day 7 - Friday

Today we just stayed at home. Khairul promised Addin to go to the masjid together for Friday Prayer. After the prayer Khairul and I went to Damai Coffee Bean to have my favorite Chocolate Cheese Cake. They don't have it here in KL. How pathetic is that? KL bah nih!
Then we went to Wisma Merdeka and bought a buy-1-free-1 bermuda khakis for Khairul. Then took some pictures at the jetty. Then fetch mom from work, sis at her college and Addin at his school. Khairul doesn't seem to have a time-off from being 'the supir'.
Later that nite we went to Laya-laya for dinner. Uncle Burn is treating us with some seafood platters! We ordered sayur manis masak belacan (here they call it Sabah Veggie), slipper lobsters with cheese, butter prawn (which they sprinkled Nestum on top of the prawns! what recipe is that??!), ketam masak something, and ikan merah sweet and sour. I ordered fresh avocado juice, a drink which you can barely find it here in KL.
Oh ya by the way, all these pictures in this entry were taken using a digicam. Just a normal one.

Day 6 - Thursday
|
|
Initially I planned to take Khairul to Papar by train. However the one with great views is the Beaufort-Tenom train ride. It takes 4-5 hours for the KK-Tenom train ride so maybe next time around lah.
Next we went up the Signal Hill Observatory to fetch a pail of water. Hahaha suddenly Jack & Jill song is playing in my head. Yeah lame joke I know. Anyway we went up there to take more pictures actually. It's quite creepy though but I love looking out KK from there. Breathtaking views that make me miss KK so much.
It was already lunch time but we proceeded without lunch to KK Bird Sanctuary. That was my first time there so I didn't know that the place covered quite a very wide area. We spent over an hour there only to find burung pigeon and burung bangau. The rest we could only hear them singing. So much for bird observations. We went home totally famished.
Was planning to meet up with Kar and Anna after dinner but mom suddenly called up and we had to attend a relative's kenduri at Jalan Pelanduk. I called up my uncle, my sister, Kar and Azrina to ask where Jalan Pelanduk is. None of them know so I made them ask around. Interestingly I got so many answers: di Luyang lah, di Penampang lah, di Bukit Padang lah, on the way to Menggatal lah, di Foh Sang lah, di Taman Gaya lah. So much for being orang KK haaa??? Satu orang pun ndak boleh harap. Nasib baik last-last tu ada map. FYI, Jalan Pelanduk is located at the borders of Luyang-Penampang and easily reachable from Foh Sang.

Day 5 - Wednesday
|
|
It was raining both on day 3 and 4 so Khairul and I spent the 2 days melepak-lepak at home, Khairul reading the Harry Potter series, and me watching Astro with kakak and playing with my cat.
The sun was shining bright on the morning of day 5 so we decided to go to Pulau Manukan. Dad sent us to the jetty and had Sabah Parks people coming from Manukan to fetch us both.
Snorkeling was fun as ever! Khairul actually dragged me to the deeper, darker waters to see some hard corals and fishes. I brought some bread with me to feed the pretty colorful fishes. I couldn't even move my arms and legs cos they were all over me. Very the geli-geli one. The yellow color fish sungguh buta becos they thought my finger tu food so they actually nghap my right index finger. Mulut sungguh besar dan gigi sungguh tajam. Mongoks punya ikan. 
It started drizzling at 2.00pm so we decided to call it a day and headed back home.
Anyways here are some photos taken using my mobile phone. I forgot to bring the digicam. We were too buzy playing with the colorful fishes to even remember taking pictures anyway.

Day 2 - Sunday
|
|
Went to the tamu at Gaya Street with mom, sis and Khairul. Bought my favorite kampung cotton candy. It's made of raw sugar so it's brown in color and tastes a lot better than the commercial pink cotton candy. Met up with Azrina Maruf who was helping her uncle selling Dorayakis so I bought some peanut butter dorayakis.
Then we went to see the Dragon Boat Race at Likas Bay. Mom didn't wawanted to just look from inside the car. I decided to hang out at the seabanks under the blazing sun. Khairul came to join me. Then Here's a pic of us by my sis. I just so love it. Later mom and sis decided to join us as well to take more pictures.
Then we went home to simpan our shopping bags and saw that the color of the tap water in the kitchen was dark as coffee. Ok laa not coffee la more like Nescafe O'. If you just boil it and put some kopi and sugar people wouldn't even know about it. He he he he he 
After some while mom decided to take us to Tanjung Aru Beach #3. I really miss the beach.
